Undertone creates original music from the songs you choose. Updated September 19, 2026.

Your account and taste

You can sign in with Google. Better Auth stores your email, account identifier, sessions and any name or profile image provided. We request basic identity access; we do not request access to your music library, YouTube history, contacts or email messages.

You choose favorite artists, and we suggest 20 starting songs. You can review and swap them. We save your onboarding progress and confirmed choices to your account. Artist and song searches use Apple’s public music catalog. Search text is sent to Apple; artwork may load from Apple’s image servers. A music subscription or music-library permission is not required.

How music is made

Song titles, artists, durations and public metadata help create musical briefs through Vercel AI Gateway. We query ReccoBeats and LRCLIB for matching catalog features and lyrics. Retrieved lyrics help identify language and context; we do not retain their text or pass it to the songwriter. We cache musical profiles with their sources and uncertainty. Source audio is not downloaded, stored or sent to an AI service. MusicGPT receives musical descriptions and newly written original lyrics to generate audio. Hosted account data and songs are stored with Neon and Vercel.

Sharing songs

If you share a generated song, anyone with its link can listen and see its title, genre and mood. Your selected songs and account details stay private. Turn off the link from the song’s share dialog to prevent future access.

Usage and performance

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand page visits, performance and actions such as onboarding, song creation, playback, favorites and sharing. These tools do not add analytics cookies. Our activity events use categories and counts, not your email, search text, song titles, lyrics or share links. We remove query strings and share tokens from the page URLs sent by our analytics integration. Click notifications also go to our private Discord channel using only fixed action labels and page categories, without account identifiers, page text, input values or share links.

Operational logs record request outcomes, timings and generation progress so we can diagnose failures. Authenticated operations may include a pseudonymous account identifier. We do not intentionally include credentials, session cookies, prompts or private song content in our application logs. Access and retention are managed through our hosting provider.

Your choices

Open Account to edit your music taste or log out. Logging out ends this browser’s session. Essential cookies keep you signed in for up to seven days and verify sign-in attempts. We do not add advertising or analytics cookies. Google uses its own sign-in cookies. For account data or deletion requests, contact Undertone’s operator through the channel where you received this app.
